Real Property Policy Division Overview
The Real Property Policy Division develops, promotes, and assesses compliance with management policies and regulations for the effective and efficient stewardship of Federal real property assets. We do this by:
- Providing government-wide policy oversight and guidance for the acquisition, construction, utilization, management, and disposal of federal real property.
- Providing leadership in the development and maintenance of a centralized government-wide real property inventory system.
- Developing regulations, standards, and criteria for issuance by the Administrator for the acquisition, construction, utilization, management, and disposal of federal real property.
The Real Property Policy Division focuses on two areas: real property asset management and regulations management.
Real Property Asset Management

We analyze the impact of laws, executive orders, and international agreements; and through interagency working groups addressing real property issues affecting federal agencies.
