In 2022, the federal government owned approximately $2 trillion in personal property assets. Managing these assets – office supplies to aircraft – is an important responsibility. We give federal agencies the regulations, policies, and guidance they need to manage and dispose of personal property.
Explain how to collect, analyze, and report data on federal personal property;
Facilitate federal agency discussions on personal property management through the Interagency Committee on Property Management (ICPM);
Provide policies and guidance on personal property management and on special programs such as exchange/sale and foreign gifts; and
Provide personal property regulations in the Federal Management Regulation (FMR).
