Federal Real Property Profile Public Data Set
Pursuant to the Federal Asset Sales and Transfer Act of 2016 (P.L. 114-287), the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is making real property data from the Federal Real Property Profile Management System (FRPP MS) accessible to the public. FRPP MS is the federal government’s centralized inventory of real property under the custody and control of executive branch agencies. The data currently accessible on this site represents the Government’s inventory as of September 30, 2016. Data for fiscal year 2017 will be available on this site in the spring of 2018.
Agencies submit descriptive information on the nature, extent, and use of their real property assets to FRPP MS annually according to guidance outlined in the Federal Real Property Council Guidance for Real Property Inventory Reporting, also known as the Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP) data dictionary. It defines the data elements and technical requirements for submitting data to the FRPP MS. The link to the GSA webpage containing current and past versions of the FRPP data dictionary is gsa.gov/datadictionary.
The FRPP data accessible from this GSA website is an extract from the FRPP MS. The original source of the data in the FRPP MS is the various landholding agencies that submit data to the FRPP MS. Those agencies determine the data they submit to the FRPP MS as well as the assets excluded from the public data set under criteria discussed below.
Accessing the FRPP Public Data Set
The FRPP public data set is displayed in comma separated value (CSV) files. One file contains detailed asset level data for civilian agencies; the other, installation level data for non-civilian agencies. Please click on the following links to see and download the files.
FASTA authorizes the exclusion of real property from publication for reasons of national security and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exclusions. Decisions regarding which properties to exempt based on FOIA and national security determinations were made by individual federal agencies.
For the assets exempt under FOIA, the public data set shows only the agency name, the FOIA exemption, and, if applicable, the statutory citation.
Persons seeking to use the FRPP public data set should be aware that the data provided through this site may not reflect the current inventories of the executive branch agencies that submit data to FRPP MS. Agencies submit data once every fiscal year.
Questions regarding the data set should be submitted to email@example.com.
