The Real Property Policy Division supports and works with Federal agencies to keep them abreast of policies that must be followed when disposing of federal assets, as well as providing tools to help them identify real property assets that are no longer mission –critical to the federal government. Title V of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, as amended November 29, 1990, and Public Law 101-645 (42 USC 11411), enables eligible organizations to use unutilized, underutilized, excess, or surplus Federal properties as facilities to assist homeless persons. General Services Administration is one of four agencies with responsibilities under this law. The other three agencies are Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, and the Interagency Council on the Homeless.
