About the app
The Project Finder app is used to navigate through the GSA domain to locate and access projects and partitions in Kahua. A domain in Kahua is where all of our projects sit. A partition is a division within the GSA domain where multiple partitions, such as regions and branches, can be created to organize projects in a hierarchical manner. The Project Finder app only displays the projects the user has access to see. For example, internal GSA users have read-only access to all GSA projects.
There are three tabs and one icon that allow a user to find and select a project or partition in Kahua:
- ALL PROJECTS — Allows the user to drill down in the hierarchy structure to open a project.
- MY PROJECTS — Displays a list of “starred” projects, or favorites. To learn more about starring a project, please refer to the favorite a project or partition section below.
- RECENT PROJECTS — Displays a list of the most recent projects a user has worked in that can be selected.
- Magnifying glass/search icon — Allows a user to search for a project by inputting the project name, Kahua project number, or, if applicable, the REXUS number.
Open a project using the ALL PROJECTS tab
This action can be executed by anyone with access to a project.
- In the launch bar on the left side of the screen, click the Project Finder app.
- Under the ALL PROJECTS tab select the name of the partition or “number of projects” to drill down to find your project. Continue to drill down until you locate the appropriate project. Partitions with ‘children’ partitions or projects will display a folder and the number of partitions or projects contained within the folder. Note: Each region may have a different hierarchy structure.

- Once the project has been located, the folder icon changes to an arrow and the “number of projects” disappears to indicate the project has no additional “children.” Notice the partition’s path is displayed at the top. To return to the previous partition, use the partition’s path to select the partition that you wish to view.

- To select the project, select the project name or the upward arrow icon.
- Selecting a project will open the project, navigate away from the Project Finder app, and display the project name in the top navigation bar. Proceed with selecting an application to explore in the project.
