DLA-GSA Alignment of Federal Supply Classes

As part of longstanding collaboration on supply support, DLA and GSA manage distinct Federal Supply Classes (FSC). Beginning in FY 2019, DLA is sunsetting, on a rolling basis, contracts it had with vendors for items in Class II FSCs managed by GSA. As those contracts come up for renewal, they will either expire or the listed FSCs will be removed. Learn more about this transition and a list of the affected FSCs [PDF - 370 KB].


GSA Global Supply was recently designated by OMB as a Best-in-Class (BIC) government-wide acquisition solution. To achieve this designation, the program was evaluated against the following five major criteria outlined in the OMB's Category Management Guidance Document Version 1.0:

  • Rigorous requirements definitions and planning processes;
  • Appropriate pricing strategies;
  • Data-driven demand management strategies;
  • Category and performance management strategies; and
  • Independently validated reviews.

Part of the review process involved demonstrating the potential savings to federal agencies, including direct cost comparisons as well as administrative saving that customers could realize by having GSA handle the administrative burden of procuring common commodities.

2019 Supply Catalog

GSA Global Supply is pleased to present its 2019 Supply Catalog. It contains more than 7,000 items including office supplies (with many toner choices), tools, an expanded furniture selection, and much more. All items are available via simple requisitions through whatever ordering mechanism is best for you:

The electronic flipbook edition of the catalog is available online. For those lacking reliable Internet access, a limited quantity of print editions are available at no cost.

One Million New Items

GSA Global Supply is dramatically expanding its product offering, with more than one (1) million new items available soon. These products are identified with part numbers instead of National Stock Numbers. The items will bear one of two standard prefixes, either FJSA for Janitorial-Sanitation (JanSan) products, or FMRA for Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRO) supplies.

JanSan items include a wide spectrum of cleaning supplies, with the largest category made up of Non-Motorized Cleaning Equipment and Trash Receptacles. MRO includes a large number of:

  • Tools:
    • Hand tools;
    • Power tools; and
    • Tool bags.
  • Hardware:
    • Electrical;
    • Lighting;
    • HVAC, and
    • Pumps.
  • Industrial supplies.

The new products, like all items available from GSA Global Supply, are simple requisitions and require no comparison shopping for orders under the micro-purchase threshold. Given the large number of items to be added, are conducting the expansion in phases, by loading products during each weekend in July through December 2018.
