GSA Awards Interim Leasing Support Services Contract

GSA Leasing Support Services (GLS) Interim contract will be a bridge for GSA’s leasing support services

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) successfully awarded nine GLS Interim contracts to current GLS Plus contract holders for up to 12 months. This proactive step extends the current contracts and ensures continued service excellence while accommodating important adjustments in priorities.

“This interim contract helps execute President Trump’s vision of a more efficient federal government, and ensure there are no disruption in services from contractors already proven to deliver necessary services,” said GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst. “This extension will enable GSA to take a deeper dive into the services provided to ensure we are optimizing contracts moving forward.”

Building on the foundation of GLS Plus, this interim contract provides critical specialized commercial broker services to support lease contracting officers and manage GSA’s national leased portfolio.

Key features of GLS Interim contract include:

  • A no-cost contract structure that leverages existing shell rent to compensate brokers, without any additional direct expenses for the federal government.
  • Acquisition services that support the needs of federal government leasing, encompassing long-term property acquisitions, short-term build up of surging agencies, post-award management, and strategic lease renewals to optimize the federal government’s real estate portfolio.
  • A streamlined statement of work that references standard GSA documents, such as the Leasing Desk Guide and Federal Acquisition Regulation, to provide concise guidance while avoiding unnecessary process details.

“This interim contracting approach is a deliberate step taken by GSA to provide the necessary time and flexibility to align its broader, long-term acquisition strategies with key presidential mandates,” said Public Buildings Service Acting Commissioner Andrew Heller.
