GSA Strikes Another OneGov Deal with Anthropic to Offer Claude AI to all Branches of Gov for Just $1
First-of-its-kind agreement will help cement U.S. leadership in AI innovation, empowering all federal employees with cutting-edge tools to serve the American people
WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced a groundbreaking OneGov agreement with Anthropic to deliver Claude for Enterprise and Claude for Government to all three branches of the U.S. government — federal civilian executive, legislative, and judiciary — for a nominal fee of $1.
This trailblazing partnership directly supports the White House’s America’s AI Action Plan and positions the United States as the global leader in government AI adoption, ensuring that the federal workforce can tap into the transformative power of AI to modernize operations, improve decision-making, and deliver better results for taxpayers. GSA structured this agreement to make it available to other federal agencies, as well as Members of Congress and the judiciary, pending their approval.
“This OneGov deal with Anthropic is proof that the United States is setting the standard for how governments adopt AI — boldly, responsibly, and at scale,” said GSA Acting Administrator Michael Rigas. “This agreement puts the most advanced American AI models directly into the hands of those serving the American people.”
“OneGov is revolutionizing how the federal government acquires AI technology — delivering unmatched value, accelerating modernization, and opening the door for America’s best AI companies to work at the scale our nation demands,” said GSA Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum. “This agreement with Anthropic is another major step in the AI-driven transformation of government — advancing efficiency, boosting productivity, and ensuring we meet the priorities laid out in President Trump’s AI Action Plan.”
“”America’s AI leadership requires that our government institutions have access to the most capable, secure AI tools available,” said Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic. “By offering expanded Claude access across all three branches of government, we’re helping the federal workforce leverage frontier AI capabilities to maintain our competitive advantage and better serve the American people.”
“As they explore the most powerful ways to leverage this transformative technology, the federal government shouldn’t have to choose between capability and affordability when it comes to AI,” said Thiyagu Ramasamy, Anthropic’s Head of Public Sector. “With this offer, we are removing barriers so organizations in all three branches of government can harness the same advanced AI tools that are already driving transformation in the private sector.”
Claude for Government supports FedRAMP High workloads that enable federal workers to use Claude for sensitive unclassified work. Additionally, agencies will have access to Anthropic’s frontier models with continuous updates as new capabilities are released.
Key Features of the Agreement:
- Access for $1 Per Agency: Every eligible participating agency in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branch gains up to a full year of Claude for Enterprise and Claude for Government for a nominal fee.
- Assistance to Rapidly Implement AI: To ensure successful adoption, Anthropic will also provide technical support to help agencies rapidly implement AI into their productivity and mission workflows.
The agreement directly advances the Administration’s America’s AI Action Plan and supports OMB Memoranda M-25-21 (Accelerating Federal Use of AI through Innovation, Governance, and Public Trust) and M-25-22 (Driving Efficient Acquisition of Artificial Intelligence in Government).
Executive branch agencies can now procure Claude through GSA’s Multiple Award Schedule, ensuring rapid deployment of this transformative capability across government. Agencies within the Judicial and Legislative branches should work through their designated contract vehicles to procure Claude at the terms contained within this agreement.
