Treasury Department places new limit on GPC usage
Effective October 1, 2022, the Department of Treasury is lowering the limit on use of the Government Purchase Cards (GPC) for intra-governmental transactions to $9,999.99. (This change had earlier been proposed to take effect on October 1, 2020.) The planned change is a reduction from the current maximum of $24,999.99. Federal employees who use the GPC for purchasing from either GSA Global Supply or GSA’s Customer Supply Center (aka 4PL) will be impacted by this new limit.
On or after October 1, customers looking to GSA for items valued in excess of $9,999.99 will not be able to split the transaction between multiple cards. Customers of the GSA Customer Supply Center can directly contact a GSA 4PL Store Manager to arrange for payment, in whole or in part, via Activity Address Code (AAC or DoDAAC). Customers of GSA Global Supply can call GSA’s National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 800-488-3111 to make similar arrangements.
Note that current or planned orders before September 30, particularly Referral Orders to be sent to a GSA store, that are valued over $9,999.99 must be shipped and billed before September 30 or they may be rejected. Customers with questions or concerns can speak with our store manager or contact NCSC by phone or email at NCSCcustomer.service@gsa.gov.
