Laboratory Benchmarking Tool Overview — A. Farmer and P. Enck [PDF - 10 MB]Tools2019-07Corey Enck of the U.S. Green Building Council reviews major changes in their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, v4.1 building rating system, compared to LEED v4.0. Retuning and Treasure Hunt Challenges and Clean Energy Rule — N. Nmair, R. Mears, V. Sood, and C. Jackson [PDF - 1 MB]Tools2024-02

Nael Nmair of the Department of Energy introduced Chris Jackson, Varun Sood, and Rick Mears discuss FEMP Treasure Hunt and Re-Tuning challenges, as well as the Clean Energy Rule. Chris Jackson explained the definition of the Treasure Hunt, the value gained by using these low-to no-cost energy and water conversation measures, and the several stages of the Treasure Hunt Challenge. Varun Sood reviewed and introduced the audience to the concept of “re-tuning” and how to participate in the Re-tuning Challenge. Finally, Rick Mears discussed the proposed Clean Energy Rule and the types of federal buildings that these standards apply to.

Updates to ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager Metrics — K. Hatcher [PDF - 1 MB]Tools2018-07Katy Hatcher of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR program explains the Portfolio Manager updates scheduled for August 26, 2018. The ENERGY STAR score models for U.S. buildings will be updated based on data from the 2012 Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey. Other changes include modified “use details” for some building categories. Additional terms and conditions

Traveler reimbursement is based on the location of the work activities and not the accommodations, unless lodging is not available at the work activity, then the agency may authorize the rate where lodging is obtained.

Unless otherwise specified, the per diem locality is defined as "all locations within, or entirely surrounded by, the corporate limits of the key city, including independent entities located within those boundaries."

Per diem localities with county definitions shall include"all locations within, or entirely surrounded by, the corporate limits of the key city as well as the boundaries of the listed counties, including independent entities located within the boundaries of the key city and the listed counties (unless otherwise listed separately)."

When a military installation or Government - related facility(whether or not specifically named) is located partially within more than one city or county boundary, the applicable per diem rate for the entire installation or facility is the higher of the rates which apply to the cities and / or counties, even though part(s) of such activities may be located outside the defined per diem locality.
