The Long Term Lodging program, or LTL, provides pre-approved vendors that procure fully furnished apartments and condominiums for stays of at least 30 nights or more.
- This program is available to federal government employees and military personnel.
- Contractors may utilize the program if the federal funding agency sponsors the cost through a task order or agency authorized purchase method.
- Budget dependent: Lodging solutions can be tailored to meet the needs of the customer. Amenities such as parking, commuting distance, unit size, and more can be adjusted.
For all solutions
Setting up LTL reservations can vary in complexity based on the scale, location, and added amenities to the lodging requirements. In general the following will apply:
- Collect your statement of work, budget, period of performance, and location where you need the lodging.
- Procurement times depend on many different factors. It is recommended to send the LTL vendors your statement of work, budget, and location to get started with the acquisition process.
- For questions about per diem please consult the per diem calculator.
- For questions about obtaining a travel card please consult your agency representative about the travel card application process.
Find the right solution
There are several pathways to procuring a long term lodging solution. Use the workflow image or the tables below to help visualize the best path forward.
Contact vendors
All long term lodging vendors are experienced professionals with extensive experience in sourcing government lodging at scale. Contact the vendors to start your procurement process.
For DoD agencies and personnel
DoD agencies and individual federal personnel/service members can make LTL reservations outside of the Defense Travel System, or DTS. Travel claims will still go through DTS.
- Long term lodging vendors are specialized in CONUS based markets. Certain OCONUS markets can be arranged on a case by case basis depending on location and scale of requirements.
- Market size will affect unit availability and pricing. Consider the location requirement carefully for large scale contracts involving multiple units.
- The Long Term Lodging program is not designed to directly support single-family home leases. Single-family homes have different fire codes, pose greater security risks, and have more opaque ownership structures.
- We do not have an active roster of DoD contracting officers or authorized representatives for creating a task order. We can, however, provide assisted acquisition services for a fee depending on the size of the contract. The assisted acquisition section has more information.

For prospective vendors
The Long Term Lodging program is part of the Multiple Award Schedule and prospective vendors must complete the steps laid out in the MAS Roadmap in order to join. Before applying, consider the following:
- Applicants must have a registered business.
- The LTL program requires that lease agreements be for a minimum of 30 nights or more. If the properties are designed to support stays of 1-30 nights, consider registering with our temporary duty program, FedRooms.
- Single family home leases and vendors are not supported by the LTL program.
- Hotel brands should consider their application from a corporate perspective rather than an individual franchise location. Individual properties can bid on contracts under the hotel brand.
- Application review times vary based on package complexity and relevant customer experience. The average review process can take 3-6 months.
For individual travelers
For individual federal travelers seeking lodging for 30 nights or more in a CONUS based market.
