Procurement Automation Ecosystem
Today, GSA relies on fragmented legacy systems.
We’re creating a new, unified, automated, AI-enabled digital platform designed for GSA’s use with our customers and industry partners, called Procurement Automation Ecosystem, or PAE.
This platform will:
- Simplify user experience
- Unify end-to-end procurement processes
- Leverage centralized federal data to drive intelligent automation, effective competition, and smarter use of taxpayer dollars
What the new ecosystem means for you
As a supplier or contractor — You’ll submit better quality offers and modification requests, resulting in a more streamlined workflow, and you’ll be guided through the process, so that you’re not left guessing what needs to come next.
As a customer in a program office or part of the acquisition workforce — While the changes that will result from this process are upstream, benefits should flow down to the buying — or ordering — level. Other efforts are being undertaken to improve the buying experience.

Answers to top questions
The PAE acquisition strategy consists of two distinct, but coordinated efforts:
- Solution for Governmentwide Indefinite Delivery Vehicles, or IDVs: Deliver the most efficient experience for suppliers to do business with the government and for the acquisition workforce, who administer the process through transforming current processes and replacing functionality with modern, automated tools. This solution will encompass pre-award, award, and post-award features for the Multiple Award Schedule, Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Supply Schedule, Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts, and Multi-Agency Contracts.
- Buying and Ordering Solution: Address both pre-award and post-award buying processes, including evaluation of existing contract writing systems to determine which system will best accommodate all orders and contracts that we manage.
We’re currently conducting market research, so we do not have a definitive release date yet. We are committed to moving forward quickly while ensuring thorough preparation. Updates on anticipated release dates will be communicated as our planning advances.
