We provide both chief financial officers and federal agencies with support and guidance for cloud and IT modernization strategy.
Cloud and data center strategy and guidance
In partnership with the Office of Management and Budget, the IT Modernization Division offers resources to help agencies identify best practices for managing their cloud operations and modernizing their IT infrastructure.
We help agencies leverage colocation data centers by using new organizational and communication strategies and aligning resources for these strategies.
GSA Standards Executive
The IT Modernization Division within GSA’s Office of Technology Policy (OTP) has assumed the role of Standards Executive within the Interagency Committee on Standards Policy (ICSP). This committee advises the Secretary of Commerce and the heads of other federal agencies in matters relating to the implementation of OMB A-119 [PDF] and reports to the Secretary of Commerce through the director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Our course offerings come from both large and small organizations focusing on topics such as: AWS, Azure, Cisco, CompTIA Sec+, CompTIA Cloud+, CISSP, IPv6. We also offer CPE credits for all of our courses.

GSA and the IT Modernization Division assume the role of Program Manager for the Federal IPv6 Task Force. This task force hosts bimonthly interagency meetings to share knowledge, common challenges and best practices for implementing IPv6-only networks.

IT Sustainability Subcommunity of Practice
A sustainable IT environment provides material benefit to federal agencies and taxpayers through reduced energy costs and improved resiliency of federal infrastructure. Estimated global IT-related greenhouse gas emissions range from 2.1% to 3.9% of total CO2 emissions. Awareness is the first step in understanding the complex interplay between our technology and implementation decisions and our stewardship of the environment. The IT Sustainability Subcommunity of Practice (ITS Sub CoP) convenes quarterly to discuss fostering a sustainable environment within the federal government.
