New clinic open to support Pittsburgh area veterans
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Pittsburgh Healthcare System formally cut the ribbon on a new community-based outpatient clinic at 451 Mall Circle Drive, Monroeville, Pennsylvania. This new state-of-the-art facility improves veterans’ access to care, including:
- Providing primary and specialty outpatient services.
- Close proximity to a growing veteran population.
- Providing routine outpatient care not requiring hospitalization.
- Reducing drive times for many Pittsburgh-area veterans enrolled in VA care.
The leased space includes 67,000 square feet and 500 parking spaces.

Asher, FACHE, Deputy Director of VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. The completion and activation of this building is the culmination of a truly collaborative process. With this new treatment space, we will provide more service and better service to our Nation’s heroes."
“GSA is honored to be a partner in bringing this facility to Monroeville,” added Tom Lyman, Deputy Regional Commissioner for GSA’s Mid-Atlantic Region, Public Buildings Service. “Just under two years ago, we broke ground for this facility and now, are pleased to see it open ahead of schedule and on budget. Thank you to the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and all our partners for getting us to today.”
Summit Smith Development, a division of C.D. Smith Construction, was the developer for this lease project. Substantial completion was reached in March 2023, with the facility opening to accept patients July 31, 2023.
Authorized by Congress in 2018, the GSA and VA partnership allows VA to take advantage of GSA’s streamlined Request for Lease Proposal to deliver a portfolio of 28 leases and supports VA’s Strategic Capital Investment Planning process.
